European Coast Guard Functions Academy Network II - ECGFA NET II

ECGFA NET II is direct continuation for the ECGFA NET designed to ensure that the results of the first phase are sustainable.

Objectives

General Objective:  
  • To enhance educational cooperation in the field of coast guard functions (CGF) and, consequently, to facilitate the interoperability and cooperation amongst different bodies carrying out coast guard functions in order to enhance the coherence and effectiveness of CGF activities.

Specific Objectives:
  1. To provide support for the ECGF Training Network and the ECGF Training Portal during their start-up phase in order to increase the number of members and to enable the Network to function in an active and autonomous manner, taking ownership on the Network, its activities and future development.
  2. To launch a pilot ECGF Expert Exchange Programme in order to increase the sharing of knowledge and skills in the CGF sector and to assess the future needs of the Exchange Programme.
  3. To advance the development of the CGFSQF by drafting the final structure of the CGFSQF (stages 2-3 out of 7).

The project is divided into four Work Packages (WP)

WP 1: Administration, coordination and reporting, WP leader: Finnish Border Guard

WP 3: Running of a pilot ECGF Expert exchange Programme, WP leader: Finnish Border Guard

WP 4: Drafting the final structure of CGFSQF, WP leader: Italian Coast Guard

 

Duration and Budget

15 months, October 2016 - December 2017
